The ACR1281U-C1 DualBoost II is the second generation of ACS’s ACR128 DualBoost reader. It is a dual-interface reader capable of accessing any contact and contactless smart cards complying with ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 standards. The ACR1281U-C1 DualBoost II allows integration of separate and independent applications for contact and contactless technologies into a single device and card. It can be used for secure online transactions for credit card payments and also for top-up operations on contactless cards in automated fare collection systems. It offers the perfect complement to the all-in-one card concept, combining multiple smart card applications into a single card.
The DualBoost series is PC/SC compliant for both contact and contactless interfaces. It uses high-speed communication for contactless cards, with a maximum speed of 848 kbps, making it suitable for demanding applications. It also provides intelligent support for hybrid and combo cards, allowing it to detect contactless cards even when they are improperly placed in the contact card slot. Finally, DualBoost features an integrated SAM slot to enhance security in both contact and contactless applications.
