The ACR39U-UF smart card reader is one of the latest products from ACS, highlighting the evolution of USB standards. This palm-sized reader features a USB Type-C connection. The USB Type-C connector is reversible, meaning the plug and cable orientation can be inserted in either direction, making it suitable for mobile device designs in future smart card applications.
The ACR39U-UF uses the same core as the ACR39U series. It supports ISO 7816 smart cards, various types of memory cards, and microprocessor cards with T=0 and T=1 protocols.
Unlike older USB cables, the Type-C connector can be inserted either way, providing greater convenience. The reader complies with PC/SC and CCID standards, ensuring compatibility with existing applications that follow USB specifications. The ACR39U smart card reader can easily be integrated into both computer-based and mobile device environments. Its drivers are compatible with operating systems such as Windows®, Solaris™, Linux®, and macOS. Additionally, the ACR39U-UF can be used on mobile devices running Android™ version 3.1 or higher.
